Lahore Traffic Police Issues Over 10,000 Challans to Smoke-Emitting Vehicles
The Lahore Traffic Police stepped up enforcement against smog and environmental violations in September, issuing more than 10,000 challan tickets during the month.
Traffic police officials said the September campaign marked a sharp increase in enforcement activity. Operations rose 215 percent from August levels and stood 1,149 percent higher than the level recorded in January.
The enforcement drive remains active across Lahore, with police continuing checks at the city’s entry and exit points. Authorities have also intensified inspections of commercial vehicles as part of efforts to curb pollution and smog-related violations.
Relevant SPs and DSPs are overseeing the operations and monitoring enforcement activities across their respective areas.
