Complaints of alleged illegal parking practices and overcharging have surfaced at Lahore Railway Station, with citizens accusing parking operators of charging more than the officially approved rates.
According to sources, the parking company has set the fee at Rs10 for motorcycles and Rs. 30 for cars. However, citizens have complained that Rs. 35 is being charged for motorcycles for the first two hours at the station’s parking area.
For other vehicles, Rs. 50 is reportedly being charged for cars, Rs. 40 for rickshaws, and Rs. 60 for vans for the first two hours.
Citizens further claimed that an additional 50% of the applicable parking fee is being charged for every extra hour after the initial two-hour period.
The complaints have raised concerns over compliance with the officially approved parking rates at the railway station.
Citizens have urged the relevant departments and senior authorities to take immediate notice of the matter, ensure enforcement of the approved parking charges, and take action over the alleged overcharging.
