Lahore Police have decided to assess the professional capability of guards working for private security companies.
The city police have sent a letter to the Home Department seeking a security audit of private security firms.
According to sources, the audit will review the training of guards, weapon handling, and overall security readiness. Instructions have also been issued to provide the best possible training to security guards deployed at banks and financial institutions.
Police officials have proposed that weapons handling training for guards be conducted with the cooperation of the police.
The professional training and emergency response capacity of the guards will also be examined.
The CCPO has directed special focus on the professional training of bank security guards, strict implementation of security SOPs in banks and financial institutions, and continuous monitoring of security arrangements at banks and sensitive locations by divisional SPs.
Lahore Police have also stressed stronger coordination with private security companies, immediate corrective action in case of negligence, and further tightening of the system for training, deployment standards, and SOP compliance in the private security sector.
