Lahore High Court Issues Key Ruling on MDCAT Question Papers

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed authorities to upload the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) question papers and their codes on the official website and keep them available until the admission process is completed.

Justice Ahsan Raza Kazmi issued the order on Saturday while deciding petitions filed by Noshaab A. Khan and others regarding the examination.

The court observed that removing the question papers from the website would make it difficult for students to file objections and would go against the principles of transparency.

The ruling comes amid concerns over the credibility of the MDCAT in Sindh. The examination is a key requirement for students seeking admission to medical and dental colleges across Pakistan.

Earlier, the federal government contacted the Sindh government over complaints about the test and called for an independent and transparent inquiry.

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) also wrote to Sindh’s health minister, requesting an investigation into the allegations. The provincial government was directed to complete the inquiry and submit a report within two weeks.

The concerns emerged after allegations of an MDCAT question paper leak circulated on social media. Lawmakers also raised questions about the examination’s credibility and transparency.
