Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Abdul Rahim Shirazi has ordered the registration of cases against operators of heavy vehicles entering Lahore during restricted hours to prevent road accidents and ensure safe travel.
The CTO has directed traffic officials to strictly monitor public service vehicles, commercial traffic, and heavy vehicles operating on city roads during prohibited timings.
According to the traffic police, heavy traffic is barred from entering Lahore during the daytime and is allowed to enter only between 11 pm and 7 am.
The restrictions apply to tractor-trolleys, trailers, trucks and construction machinery, which are prohibited from entering the city during daytime hours.
Shirazi warned that legal cases would be registered directly against operators found violating the restrictions.
He said heavy traffic was being allowed into the city in phases, while oil tankers were permitted entry only during designated timings.
The measures aim to regulate heavy traffic movement, reduce the risk of accidents, and improve road safety in Lahore.
