The Lahore Board has significantly increased its sports budget to promote athletics in educational institutions and improve facilities for students.
Under the decision, 1,100 government high schools in Lahore Division will receive free sports equipment, while 20% of government colleges in the division will also benefit from the facility.
The board has raised its sports budget from Rs10 million to Rs25 million. Officials said the increase is aimed at promoting sports activities in public educational institutions and providing students with the necessary facilities.
A total of Rs61 million has been allocated for the Lahore Board’s Sports Department, under which further measures will be taken to support sports in government schools and colleges.
