Foreign Ministry Launches Evening Shift for Consular Services

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has introduced an evening shift for consular services at its headquarters in Islamabad to improve public access and speed up service delivery.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced the initiative, saying the extended hours reflect the government’s commitment to making consular services more accessible, convenient, and efficient. Under the new schedule, citizens can now avail consular services from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

According to a public notice issued by the ministry, token issuance for the morning shift will continue from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. from Monday to Thursday and from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Fridays.

For the newly introduced evening shift, tokens will be issued from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. from Monday to Thursday and from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Fridays. The Foreign Ministry said the evening shift took effect on Monday, July 27, 2026, and is intended to facilitate applicants by extending the availability of consular services.

The ministry said it remains committed to providing efficient, accessible, and citizen-centric services and advised the public to visit the Consular Services Wing during the revised operating hours.
