The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Police has officially introduced digital driving licenses across the province, allowing motorists to keep their licenses on their mobile phones instead of carrying physical copies.
Under the new system, motorists can access their e-license through a mobile application by entering their CNIC number. The digital license will then appear on the user’s phone within minutes.
Traffic officials in Peshawar have been instructed to recognize the e-license as legally valid and not issue fines to motorists who present the digital version instead of a physical driving license.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Peshawar Dr. Muhammad Zahid said the introduction of digital driving licenses marks an important step toward using technology to modernize traffic policing in the province.
