KP Considers Inter-District BRT Service on Motorway

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is considering a plan to launch an inter-district BRT service on motorways to connect Peshawar with other districts. According to the provincial government spokesperson, the proposed service would connect Peshawar with Mardan, Nowshera and Swat through the motorway network.

The Transport Department plans to conduct a feasibility study to assess the proposed service and determine its key details. The study will examine the overall cost, routes and locations for BRT stations, along with other aspects of the project.

Officials said the proposed service could provide a convenient travel option for thousands of passengers traveling between Peshawar and other districts.

Transport Department officials said operating the BRT service through the motorway would be easier than using the GT Road, potentially making travel between Peshawar and surrounding districts more convenient.

The project remains under consideration, with the feasibility study expected to determine the routes, cost and other requirements of the proposed inter-district BRT service.
