The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved development projects worth Rs. 3.23 billion for Jamrud tehsil of Khyber district.
According to project documents, the approved PC-1 includes development schemes covering roads, healthcare, local government, infrastructure and agriculture.
The largest allocation of Rs. 1.494 billion has been approved for infrastructure works, including pipe culverts, footpaths, drains and model streets.
Another Rs. 1.43 billion has been allocated for the restoration and construction of roads across Jamrud.
The government has also earmarked Rs. 200 million for local government projects and Rs. 100 million for upgrading 11 health centers in the tehsil.
The agriculture sector will receive Rs. 100 million, including funding for an olive oil extraction unit. A further Rs. 1.5 million has been allocated for the solarization of mosques and seminaries.
The approval comes as the KP government continues to expand development spending across the merged districts. In August, the Provincial Development Working Party approved 26 development projects worth more than Rs. 130 billion, including road and bridge works in Jamrud, Bara and Landi Kotal.
The Jamrud package is expected to improve basic infrastructure and public services while supporting agriculture and local development in the Khyber district.
