Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed authorities to speed up development work in Islamabad’s Diplomatic Enclave while ensuring better facilities and improved security for diplomatic missions and residents.
Naqvi visited the Diplomatic Enclave on Tuesday to review progress on ongoing infrastructure projects. During the visit, he inspected work on the boundary wall, security checkpoint remodeling, cycling track and walking track.
The minister directed officials to ensure uninterrupted construction of the boundary wall and strictly ordered that no trees be cut during the development work.
He also called for the cycling and walking tracks to be developed according to modern planning standards. Authorities were further directed to widen roads in the enclave to improve traffic flow and accessibility.
Naqvi asked the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Security to prepare a revised security plan for the Diplomatic Enclave based on current requirements.
He also announced the restoration and upgrading of parks in the area, saying the government wants to turn the enclave into a secure and well-managed diplomatic zone with improved infrastructure and public spaces.
During the briefing, CDA Chairman shared details of ongoing projects, timelines and future development plans. The Deputy Commissioner Islamabad and other senior officials also attended the visit.
