An Islamabad Police officer allegedly died by suicide after becoming distressed over a marriage proposal, according to police sources.
The officer was identified as Hassan Raza, who was serving with the Islamabad Police’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) force.
Sources said Raza was reportedly upset after facing difficulties related to finding a marriage match. He allegedly shot himself with his official pistol, resulting in his death.
Following the incident, Raza’s body was shifted to Polyclinic Hospital for medico-legal procedures. Senior Islamabad Police officers also reached the hospital.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are examining the circumstances surrounding his death.
The exact circumstances and motive have not yet been independently established, and further details are expected after the completion of the investigation.
