Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have intensified a crackdown on illegal parking and footpath encroachments across the federal capital to improve traffic flow and enforce road safety rules.
The campaign, launched on the directives of Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, targets illegal parking at commercial centers, shopping malls, local markets and major roads. Specialized monitoring teams have been deployed across the city to address traffic congestion caused by unauthorized parking and clear public walkways.
Chief Traffic Officer Kainat Azhar Khan directed all zonal Deputy Superintendents of Police to strictly enforce traffic laws against violations that disrupt traffic discipline. She ordered motorists to use designated parking areas and said the traffic police would show no leniency toward violators.
Khan also stressed that footpaths are reserved for pedestrians and directed officials to take action against illegal parking and commercial activities obstructing walkways. The traffic police said they would continue efforts to improve access and traffic management in commercial areas while urging citizens to follow traffic regulations and use designated parking spaces.
The campaign aims to reduce traffic congestion, protect pedestrian spaces and improve road safety across Islamabad.
