Apple has published the official battery capacities of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max through mandatory EU Energy Labels, revealing details the company normally does not list in its specifications.
The labels show that the EU version of the iPhone 18 Pro has a 4,056mAh battery, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max packs a significantly larger 5,391mAh cell.
Bigger Batteries Than Last Year
Compared with the previous generation, the iPhone 18 Pro’s battery capacity has increased by around 1.45%.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max receives a much larger upgrade, with its battery capacity increasing by approximately 11.8% compared with the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The difference also explains why Apple rates the Pro Max for longer battery life on a single charge than the smaller Pro model.
EU Models Have Smaller Batteries
The capacities revealed by the labels apply specifically to iPhones sold in the European Union.
Apple continues to offer physical SIM card slots on EU models, which take up internal space.
In some other markets, the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are sold without physical SIM trays. Those versions can use the freed-up internal space for larger batteries, meaning their capacities may be higher than the figures published for Europe.
Energy Labels Reveal More Details
Both iPhone 18 Pro models received an A overall energy rating under the EU system.
They were also given a B rating for drop resistance and a C rating for repairability.
Both phones carry an IP68 rating for protection against dust and water.
Apple’s battery information also states that the batteries are designed to survive at least 1,000 charge cycles before their maximum capacity falls below 80%.
The EU labeling rules therefore provide buyers with information that Apple traditionally leaves out of its own technical specification sheets, including exact battery capacities, durability ratings and repairability scores.
