Internet services have been fully restored across Islamabad and Rawalpindi after a fault in an optical fiber network was fixed, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said.
PTA confirmed that the optical fiber fault in the network of a telecom operator has been resolved.
Following the repair, internet services in the twin cities have returned to normal, ending the disruption that had affected mobile data and Wi-Fi connectivity in some areas.
The authority had earlier said that technical teams were working to repair the optical fiber fault and restore services in the affected areas.
With the fault now resolved, PTA said internet services are fully operational in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
A security situation had briefly developed in the twin cities earlier this week after a protest was announced for Sunday (today). The protests have been delayed.
