Internet connectivity problems disrupted the communication link between the Supreme Court and its Quetta Registry, the Senate IT committee was told on Thursday.
Senator Kamran Murtaza raised the matter during a meeting chaired by Senator Palwasha Khan, stating that the two judicial locations could not establish their connection because of an internet issue.
The committee chairperson also said complaints were being received about internet disruptions in Islamabad.
The matter forced Senators to seek an assessment of internet services across Pakistan. PTA Chairman Hafeez Ur Rehman told the committee that the regulator would provide a nationwide briefing on internet services within one month.
The Senate panel is now set to receive a countrywide update from PTA covering service availability and network-related concerns.
