Pakistan’s car sales, as reported by the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), reached 19,818 units in July 2026, up 79% year-over-year (YoY) but down 13% month-over-month (MoM).
According to Topline Securities, the YoY rise resulted from new market entrants, new product launches and a surge in auto financing. Meanwhile, the MoM decline primarily resulted from uncertainty surrounding the new auto policy.
Company-wise Sales
Indus Motor Company (INDU) was the only company to record a MoM increase. INDU posted a 53% YoY and 45% MoM increase in sales to 5,089 units, marking a nearly four-year high. The growth primarily came from Corolla, Yaris and Cross sales, which collectively increased 77% YoY and 62% MoM to 4,283 units. Meanwhile, Fortuner and IMV sales declined 12% YoY and 6% MoM to 806 units.
Honda Atlas Cars (HCAR) recorded a 76% YoY increase but an 11% MoM decline in sales to 2,640 units in July 2026. City and Civic sales rose 2.2 times YoY but declined 3% MoM to 2,529 units, while BR-V and HR-V sales decreased 69% YoY and 71% MoM to 111 units.
Sazgar Engineering (SAZEW) recorded sales of 663 units in July 2026, a 15-month low, down 39% YoY and 76% MoM.
Pakistan Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) reported sales of 10,120 units, up 2.8x YoY but down 12% MoM. Alto and Swift sales stood at 7,217 units and 2,018 units, respectively, driving PSMC’s sales. Hyundai Nishat Motors recorded a 42% YoY and 47% MoM decline in sales to 710 units.
Two- and three-wheeler sales increased 38% YoY but declined 4% MoM to 172,416 units in July 2026. Tractor sales increased 4% YoY but declined 59% MoM to 1,242 units. Truck and bus sales surged 2.5x YoY but declined 10% MoM to 919 units during the month.
