Huawei has launched the Mate 90 in China as the standard model in its latest flagship lineup, bringing the Kirin 9030 chipset, HarmonyOS 7, upgraded XMAGE cameras, and a 6,600mAh battery.
Design and Display
The Huawei Mate 90 measures 161.9 × 75.7 × 7.95mm and weighs around 217g. It comes in Lattice Green, Lattice Pink, Zero White and Obsidian Black, with the first two featuring Huawei’s textured lattice-style rear design.
It features a 6.75-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2832 × 1280 pixels, an adaptive 1-120Hz LTPO refresh rate, 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming and a 300Hz touch sampling rate.
The screen supports 1.07 billion colors and the P3 color gamut and is protected by third-generation Kunlun Glass. Huawei also rates the phone for IP68 protection at depths of up to six meters and IP69 resistance against high-temperature, high-pressure water jets.

The Mate 90 features a 50MP RYYB main camera with OIS and a continuously variable f/1.4-f/4.0 aperture.
It is joined by a 40MP RYYB ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 50MP RYYB telephoto camera with an f/2.2 aperture and OIS.
The camera supports approximately 4x optical zoom, 8x optical-quality zoom, and up to 100x digital zoom. Huawei has also included its third-generation Red Maple primary-color camera for improved color reproduction.
At the front is a 13MP ultrawide autofocus camera accompanied by a 3D depth-sensing camera. Both front and rear cameras support up to 4K video recording.
