Huawei has introduced a range of new devices at a recent launch event in China, including 2026 versions of its MateBook Pro S and MatePad Pro. Both of these are ultra-thin and lightweight devices powered by HarmonyOS.
The new laptop and tablet focus on portability while offering OLED displays, Kirin processors, and HarmonyOS 6.1.
Huawei MateBook Pro S
The MateBook Pro S features a 14.2-inch flexible OLED touchscreen with a 3120 × 2080 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, P3 colour coverage and up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness.
It also introduces Huawei’s Lingdun privacy display. A dedicated button allows users to activate or disable privacy mode immediately. The magnesium-lithium alloy body weighs 798g and measures 11.9mm thick. Colour choices include Dawn Yellow, Summer Purple, Velvet White, Smoky Grey and Feather Black.
Huawei’s Kirin XE90 processor powers the laptop. The company claims it provides 23% better single-core performance, 25% higher power efficiency, and 40% faster NPU performance than the Kirin X90.
A redesigned cooling system combines two fans with vertically positioned graphene thermal material, allowing up to 20W of sustained performance.
The laptop runs HarmonyOS 6.1 and offers an upgraded Celia assistant, AI meeting transcription, deep-research tools, cross-device collaboration and system-level security improvements. Other features include six microphones, Wi-Fi 7+, Star Flash audio and reverse fast charging.
Its 54Wh battery supports 66W USB-C charging and reportedly provides more than 18 hours of 1080p video playback.
Prices range from around $1,185 for the 24GB/512GB model to approximately $2,220 for the Collector’s Edition.
Huawei MatePad Pro 2026
The MatePad Pro 2026 has a 12-inch OLED display with a 3036 × 1952 resolution and up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness. The standard version uses the Kirin T93, while the cheaper Enjoy Edition gets the Kirin T93A.
Huawei will offer it in Floating White, Condensed Blue, Cherry Blossom Pink, Space Grey and Bright Moon Silver.
It runs HarmonyOS 6.1 and comes with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage. Its cameras include a 50MP f/1.8 rear sensor and a 12MP f/2.4 front camera.
The tablet packs a 10,400mAh battery with 66W wired and 40W reverse wired charging. It also includes four speakers, four microphones, and a fingerprint scanner.
Its body measures 264.2 × 172.9 × 4.7mm and weighs only 439g.
Prices start at around $843 for the Enjoy Edition and approximately $888 for the standard model. PaperMatte and keyboard-equipped versions cost more.
Shipments are expected before August 21. A wider release appears unlikely, although the similar MatePad Pro Max is already available in some international markets.
