Honor has launched the Magic9 Pro Max, its top-end flagship for late 2026, with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, dual 200MP cameras, and a large 8,800mAh silicon-carbon battery.
The phone also expands Honor’s partnership with German camera maker ARRI, with a focus on professional-grade video features.
Design and Display
The Honor Magic9 Pro Max features a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 1320 × 2868 pixels and a variable 1Hz to 120Hz refresh rate.
The panel reaches a global peak brightness of 2,000 nits and a local peak brightness of up to 10,000 nits in isolated areas during HDR video playback.
Honor has also added an updated NanoCrystal Shield for display protection, using additional silicon nitride layers and an anti-reflective coating.
The phone comes in Shadow Black, Glacier Silver, and Moss Green and carries an IP69K rating for dust and water resistance.
Internals and Software
The Magic9 Pro Max is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset.
It runs MagicOS 11 based on Android 17.
The phone is available with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
Cameras
The Magic9 Pro Max has a 200MP main camera with a 23mm-equivalent lens, a 1/1.28-inch sensor, and an f/1.6 aperture.
It is paired with a 200MP periscope telephoto camera using an 85mm-equivalent lens, a 1/1.4-inch sensor, and 3.7x optical zoom.
The third rear camera is a 50MP ultrawide with a 12mm-equivalent focal length.
Both the main and telephoto cameras feature CIPA 8.0 gimbal-level image stabilization.
All three cameras use ARRI Image Science and support ARRI color profiles and cinematic video filters. These filters allow users to change color grading with a single tap to match the look of ARRI cinema cameras.
The phone also supports ARRI LogC3 Curve recording, full 10-bit color depth, and recording in ARRI Wide Gamut 3.
Honor is offering an optional teleconverter kit with a 500mm lens attachment. A handheld SmallRig camera cage is also available with mounting points for accessories such as grips, LED lights and microphones.
Battery and Pricing
The Honor Magic9 Pro Max packs an 8,800mAh silicon-carbon battery.
It supports 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging.
Pricing in China starts at around $968 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version.
The top-end 16GB RAM and 1TB storage model costs around $1,266.
Honor has not yet announced international pricing or availability.
