The Punjab government has approved a major expansion of the restoration and development project for the historic Kamran’s Baradari, increasing its area from five acres to 15 acres.
Under the project, the historic site will be preserved while being developed as a modern recreational facility.
Officials said the project will include garden-style landscaping, decorative lighting and parking facilities to improve the site’s appeal to visitors.
Authorities have also directed officials to ensure that the original architecture and historical integrity of Kamran’s Baradari are preserved throughout the restoration work.
The project is being implemented with the support of the Archaeology Department, Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) and Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA).
Earlier plans for the expanded site also included the Ravi Show Restaurant, atrium dining, ship dining, sky dining and wooden bakery outlets. Golf courts, walkways, buggy tracks, fountains, play areas and selfie points were also proposed as part of the recreational facilities.
