The Pakistani rupee (PKR) closed in green against the US Dollar (USD) for the 208th consecutive day on Wednesday.
The PKR closed at 277.82 after gaining three paisas against the US Dollar today.
A trader told ProPakistani that many recent sessions have seen gains of only 1–3 paisas. Some days have recorded small gains, while many have logged no change. As the rupee strengthens, further appreciation generally becomes more difficult.
“At current pace, PKR could touch 276/$ in September- October 2026. If the current economic trend takes a hit due to aftershocks from geopolitical tensions, expect PKR to stay below 276 till December, or early 2027,” he added.
The rupee has consistently reported gains against the dollar since December 25, 2025.
Other Currencies
PKR gained one paisa against the UAE Dirham (AED) and was stable against the Saudi Riyal (SAR).
Meanwhile, it lost four paisas against the British Pound (GBP) and 73 paisas against the Euro (EUR).

It gained 70 paisas against the Australian Dollar (AUD) but lost 26 paisas against the Canadian Dollar (CAD).
