HEC Launches AI Training for University Administrators

The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, through its National Academy of Higher Education, has announced a three-day training program on Applied Artificial Intelligence for University Administration.

The initiative aims to modernise university management and support Digital Pakistan and cyber-resilient higher education.

The training will be held from October 7 to 9, 2026.

It is designed for university management and administrative officials in BPS-17, 18 and 19, including assistant registrars, deputy registrars, controllers, treasurers and other administrative staff.

Universities may nominate up to five suitable officers, with the top two nominations to be given preference if seats are limited.

The training will focus on the practical use of AI tools to improve admissions, examinations, record management and overall administrative efficiency.

HEC said it will later conduct similar training programs at its regional centres in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta.

The program is being seen as a timely effort to equip university administrators with future-ready skills and improve governance, transparency and service delivery in higher education institutions.
