The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan has announced scholarship opportunities at the German University of Technology in Oman (GUtech) for international students.
The scholarships are available for the 2026 academic intake and include full and partial tuition awards for Bachelor’s students. Separate tuition discounts are also available for eligible Master’s students, GUtech alumni and employees of partner organisations.
Scholarship Coverage
GUtech is offering 10 Undergraduate Excellence Scholarships covering 100% of tuition fees for four years. Applicants must have at least 95% marks in Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification.
Another 20 Undergraduate Merit Scholarships will cover 50% of tuition fees. Students need at least 90% marks or an equivalent result to qualify.
International Bachelor’s students can also apply for a scholarship covering up to 20% of tuition fees. Existing self-funded GUtech students may become eligible for DAAD scholarships covering around 50% of tuition after completing their first year.
Masters Scholarships
GUtech graduates, including international alumni, can receive a 50% tuition discount when joining an eligible Master’s program.
Employees applying through organisations participating in GUtech’s Preferred Partners Programme may receive a tuition waiver of up to 30%. The discount can reach 50% when three or more employees from the same organisation join a Master’s program in one intake.
Eligibility Criteria
The full and 50% undergraduate scholarships are open to new students of all nationalities who qualify for direct admission and are not receiving another scholarship.
Full-scholarship applicants need at least 95% in Grade 12, 37 points in the International Baccalaureate, two A* grades at A-Level or 95% under CBSE.
Partial-scholarship applicants need at least 90% in Grade 12, 36 IB points, two A grades at A-Level or 90% under CBSE.
Recipients of the full and merit scholarships must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 throughout their studies.
English Requirements
English is the main language of instruction at GUtech. Direct admission normally requires an IELTS Academic score of 6.0, TOEFL iBT score of 76 or Duolingo English Test score of 110.
Applicants must also meet the academic and subject requirements of their selected degree program.
Important Dates
The deadline for the Undergraduate Excellence and Merit Scholarships is September 1, 2026.
Scholarship results are expected to be announced by 5:00 PM on September 10, 2026. The International Student Scholarship also has a September 1 deadline for the Winter Semester.
How to Apply
Applicants must first apply for admission through the GUtech online application system and save their application number.
They must then prepare four essays of at least 300 words each and complete the relevant scholarship application form available on the GUtech scholarship page.
