Govt Ends 60% Permanent Vacant Jobs

The federal government has decided to abolish permanent government posts that have remained vacant for one year or longer.

According to a notification issued by the Controller General of Accounts (CGA), 60 percent of such vacant posts will be abolished.

However, posts that became vacant due to transfers, postings or promotions will not be abolished under the decision.

The posts being abolished will be removed from the quotas allocated for initial recruitment and direct recruitment.

All concerned accounts offices have been directed to prepare new vacancy rosters in line with the decision.

The authorities have also been instructed to process promotion cases according to the revised vacancy position.
