Govt Debt Remains At Rs. 83 Trillion

Pakistan’s federal government debt increased by 6.6  percent on a year-on-year (YoY) basis in July 2026, reaching Rs. 83.383 trillion according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

Compared to Rs. 83.642 trillion in June 2026, the central government debt has decreased by 0.3 percent month-on-month.

Meanwhile, the Central Government Domestic Debt is up by 7.8 percent YoY to Rs. 59.274 trillion in July 2026.

Out of the total domestic debt, the long-term public debt increased from Rs. 46.191 trillion to Rs. 48.377 trillion, and the stock of short-term debt increased from Rs. 8.726 trillion to Rs. 10.815 trillion during the last year.
