The Ministry of Interior has added several fertilizers, chemicals, and powders to the list of prohibited items under new security measures, according to a government notification.
Under the new rules, NADRA biometric verification will be mandatory for individuals seeking access to the restricted materials.
The notification said the measures have been introduced in the interest of public safety following a secret report, as some of the listed fertilizers, acids, and powders can potentially be used in unlawful explosive activities.
Fertilizers and Other Items on Prohibited List
The prohibited items include:
- Urea
- Ammonium nitrate
- Calcium ammonium nitrate
- Potassium nitrate
- Magnesium nitrate
- Silver
- Sodium nitrate
- Potassium chloride
- Aluminum powder
- Diammonium phosphate
- Sodium chloride
Authorities have also been directed to strictly monitor the storage and handling of the restricted materials.
If any prohibited item is lost or stolen, the concerned entity must be informed within 24 hours.
The notification further warned that illegal storage or use of the listed fertilizers, acids, and powders will be treated as a criminal offense.
