Govt Assures Exporters of Protection From Tax Officials

The federal government has assured exporters that newly notified Export Facilitation Committees will help resolve their tax disputes and protect them from harassment by tax officials.

Minister of State for Finance and Railways Bilal Azhar Kayani shared the details during a meeting with representatives of Pakistan’s exporters in Karachi on Friday.

Kayani briefed exporters on tax policy and relief measures introduced in the latest federal budget. He also heard industry concerns and discussed possible steps to resolve tax-related issues.

He said the Export Facilitation Committees have been established to address exporters’ complaints, facilitate exports and provide a mechanism for resolving disputes without unnecessary friction.

The minister reaffirmed the government’s focus on export-led industrial growth and said exporters would continue to have access to policymakers to raise operational and tax-related concerns.

Exporters welcomed the engagement and presented recommendations aimed at improving the tax framework and boosting the country’s export performance.
