The federal government has approved, in principle, a uniform nationwide system for issuing Police Character Certificates, allowing citizens to apply online through a centralized platform.
The decision came during a meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi at the National Police Bureau.
Under the new system, the National Police Bureau (NPB) will issue Police Clearance Certificates. Mohsin Naqvi said the government has simplified the existing Police Clearance Certificate process and converted it into a fully online system.
He said citizens will be able to apply for and obtain Police Clearance Certificates from home through the National Police Bureau portal, eliminating the need for lengthy procedures.
The interior minister also directed officials to develop a uniform system for issuing International Driving Permits across the country. He said the unified systems for Police Character Certificates and International Driving Permits will make the process easier for Pakistanis traveling abroad.
