Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the appointment of Major General (retd) Zafar Iqbal as Director General of the National Explosives and Petroleum Safety Agency (NEPSA).
According to a notification issued by the Establishment Division, Major General (retd) Zafar Iqbal has been appointed to the MP-1 scale post under the Ministry of Energy’s Petroleum Division.
The appointment has been made on a contractual basis for three years, starting from the date he assumes charge of the position.
The notification said the appointment has been made under the terms and conditions prescribed in the MP Scale Policy 2020.
NEPSA operates under the Petroleum Division and is responsible for safety and regulatory matters relating to explosives and petroleum-related activities.
