Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has announced that an additional 5,000 boys and girls from Balochistan and the former FATA will receive scholarships to pursue higher education at leading universities across the country.
Addressing the National Assembly on Tuesday, the minister recalled that the previous government had introduced scholarships to help talented students study at leading universities, and stated that the second phase of the program has now been launched.
He said education remains the most effective way to overcome backwardness and promote development in underdeveloped areas.
