Google is expanding AI Mode in Search with new travel features that can track flight prices, help book hotels, and even show how many airline miles or hotel points a trip will cost.
The update moves AI Mode beyond simply recommending places and flights. Users can now handle several parts of planning and booking a trip through the same conversational interface.
Track Flight Prices
Users can tell AI Mode where and when they want to travel, and it will search current fares from more than 300 airlines and travel websites.
If the price looks good, users can build their itinerary and continue to the airline or booking platform to buy the ticket.
Those who want to wait for a better deal can simply ask AI Mode to “track these flight prices for me.”
Google will then send an email when prices change for the selected destination and travel dates.
Flight price tracking through AI Mode is now available in more than 180 countries and territories, although availability depends on where AI Mode itself is supported.
Book Hotels Through AI Mode
Google is also adding conversational hotel booking.
Users can describe their destination, dates, and hotel preferences to receive a visual list of properties alongside reviews and other important details.
After choosing a hotel, users can select “Continue on Google” for supported booking partners, choose a room, check details such as cancellation policies, and complete payment using Google Pay.
The hotel or booking platform remains responsible for the reservation and customer service.
Hotel booking is initially rolling out in English in the US with partners including Booking.com, Expedia, Hilton, Hotels.com, IHG, Marriott, Priceline, Trip.com, Wyndham, and Choice Hotels.
Check Flights and Hotels With Points or Miles
AI Mode can now also show the cost of flights and hotels using loyalty points or airline miles.
A user could, for example, ask for nonstop flights on specific dates using American Airlines miles, and AI Mode will show how many miles are required based on current partner data.
The same feature works for hotel reward programs.
Support initially includes American Airlines, Alaska Airlines/Hawaiian Airlines, Hilton, Choice Hotels and Wyndham, with Accor, Flying Blue, Hyatt, LATAM Airlines and Lufthansa Group coming later.
Unlike hotel booking, the ability to view points and miles rates is rolling out globally wherever the supported AI Mode experience is available.
With these additions, Google is increasingly turning AI Mode into a complete travel assistant that can research a trip, compare prices, monitor fares, and help users complete bookings without switching between multiple search tools.
