The All Pakistan Goods Transporters Association has announced that it is postponing the wheel-jam strike planned for October 10.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the association chaired by President Nabeel Mahmood Tariq.
Senior Vice President Haji Irfan Sultan, Vice President Mumtaz Ali Khan, Mirza Arshad Iqbal and other office-bearers also attended the meeting.
Participants said the strike decision was withdrawn because of the PTI sit-in situation.
Nabeel Mahmood Tariq said the goods transport community stands with the government.
He said the government should provide security to transporters so the supply chain can continue across the country.
He also demanded an end to the seizure of containers and compensation for those already detained.
Transporters said the future course of action regarding the strike will be decided after the long march.
