Gold prices in Pakistan held steady on Tuesday, with the price of 24-karat gold staying unchanged at Rs. 412,136 per tola, while silver slipped by Rs. 120.
The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also stayed flat at Rs. 353,340, according to rates issued by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
Global Gold Also Flat
The pause followed the international market, where gold stayed at $3,896 per ounce.
Silver, however, lost ground. The price of silver per tola fell by Rs. 120 to Rs. 5,368.
A Breather After Wild Swings
The flat day comes right after Monday, when gold bounced back by Rs. 2,400 per tola. That rise followed a Rs. 10,800 drop on Saturday.
Gold is still well below last week’s levels. On October 28, it gained Rs. 3,500 to reach Rs. 425,636 per tola.
What This Means for You
For buyers, gold now costs Rs. 13,500 less per tola than it did on October 28. A family buying five tolas of jewellery would pay about Rs. 67,500 less than last Wednesday, before making charges.
For people holding silver, the dip is small, but it adds up on larger amounts. Ten tolas of silver are now worth Rs. 1,200 less than on Monday.
With global prices stuck below $4,000 after recent sharp moves, local rates could swing again in the coming sessions, so buyers may want to check daily rates before making a big purchase.
