God of War 3 Remastered has received an unofficial PC port, allowing players to experience the final chapter of Kratos’ Greek saga directly on Windows.
The project was developed by Felipe Prado, who reportedly used Claude Opus 5.5 as a coding assistant during development. The port is already playable from beginning to end, although some technical issues remain.
Not a Traditional PS4 Emulator
Instead of emulating an entire PlayStation 4, the project takes advantage of the fact that both the PS4 and modern PCs use the x86-64 processor architecture.
The original game executable therefore runs directly on the PC’s processor.
A custom runtime replaces the PS4 system libraries required by the game, while PS4 GPU commands and shaders are translated to Vulkan for PC graphics hardware.
The project is specifically designed for God of War 3 Remastered rather than functioning as a general-purpose PS4 emulator. The project’s own documentation describes it as a game-specific runtime and port.
Playable From Start to Finish
The developer says the game has been tested and can be completed from beginning to end.
Native 1080p is currently the most reliable resolution. Some textures may appear corrupted when using other render resolutions, although work on fixing those issues is ongoing.
The port supports 480p, 720p, 1440p, 1800p, and 4K rendering options.
Up to 240 FPS Support
The unofficial PC version also removes many of the limitations associated with the console release.
It supports engine frame rates of 120 FPS and 240 FPS, along with configurable frame-rate limits.
Players can also select between windowed, borderless, and fullscreen display modes.

FSR and Performance Settings
The port includes AMD FSR 1 upscaling and RCAS sharpening.
A built-in performance menu provides additional controls for rendering resolution, frame-rate limits, and other performance options.
There is also an optional performance overlay that can display information such as FPS and frametime while playing.
Built-In Cheats and Gameplay Options
The project includes a new in-game menu with several additional features.
Players can enable cheats for infinite health, magic, and Rage of Sparta, along with options to increase orb rewards.
An enemy health bar can also be enabled.
The menu additionally provides VSync controls, graphics settings, and performance options without requiring external modifications.
Players Still Need Their Own Copy
The project does not include the game itself.
Users need their own dump of God of War 3 Remastered from PS4 for the port to work. The project has been tested with supported US and European versions of the game.
It currently targets 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11 systems with Vulkan-compatible graphics hardware.
The unofficial project is not affiliated with Sony Interactive Entertainment or Santa Monica Studio.
Kratos Returns to PC Ahead of the Next God of War
The release comes as the God of War series prepares for another PlayStation entry, with God of War Laufey expected on PS5 in February.
PC players may face a longer wait for future official single-player PlayStation releases as Sony changes its approach to bringing first-party games to PC.
For now, however, the community-created project provides a new way to play God of War 3 Remastered on PC with higher resolutions, frame rates and several features unavailable in the original console release.
