Getting Jobs in Saudi Arabia Will Soon Get Much Easier for Pakistanis

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are preparing a dedicated agreement to make it easier to recruit Pakistani domestic workers for employment in the Kingdom.

This time, the focus is on worker protection, welfare and safer migration.

The proposed agreement was discussed during high-level engagements between officials from both countries.

The framework would establish a more transparent and structured recruitment process for Pakistani domestic workers and strengthen coordination between the relevant authorities.

The proposed arrangement will be an updated version of the General Agreement on the Recruitment of Workers signed by Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in 2021. While that agreement covers worker recruitment generally, the new framework would specifically address domestic workers and their employment requirements.

The Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development has sought Federal Cabinet approval to sign the proposed agreement under the relevant provisions of the Rules of Business, 1973.

The agreement could be signed during an upcoming high-level Saudi visit to Pakistan.
