Gen Z and Millennial Investors Lead PSX to Record-Breaking Month

Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) recorded its highest-ever monthly increase in investor participation in July, with 25,140 new investor accounts opened during the month.

The largest share of new investors came from the 18 to 30 age group, followed by those aged 31 to 45, highlighting strong participation from Gen Z and Millennials.

Data released by the National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited showed that 14,824, or 59 percent, of the new accounts were Sahulat accounts, while 10,287, or 41 percent, were regular investor accounts. The total also included 29 corporate accounts.

Young investors continued to dominate new account openings. Excluding corporate accounts, 25,111 unique investor numbers were issued during July, with 84 percent belonging to male investors and 16 percent to female investors.

Punjab led the country in new investor registrations with 12,917 accounts, followed by Sindh with 8,126. Islamabad recorded 1,460 new accounts, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa added 1,828.

Balochistan registered 405 new accounts, Azad Jammu and Kashmir recorded 175, Gilgit-Baltistan added 91, and 138 accounts were opened by overseas Pakistanis.
