The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has announced the result of the CSS 2026 written competitive examination, with only 476 candidates passing the exam.
According to an official press release, FPSC held the written examination from February 4 to February 15, 2026. A total of 24,321 candidates applied, while 17,351 appeared in at least one paper.
Of these, 16,342 candidates appeared in all papers. Only 476 candidates cleared the written examination, taking the overall pass rate to 2.74 percent.
The successful candidates include 239 men and 237 women. FPSC has placed the complete list of qualified candidates in Annex-A of the result notice.
The commission also shared details of the MCQs-Based Preliminary Test (MPT) 2026. It received 63,368 applications for the test, while 43,189 candidates appeared.
A total of 36,758 candidates passed the MPT, including 20,625 men and 16,133 women. However, only 24,321 candidates later submitted applications for the written examination.
Candidates who passed the written exam will now appear in the medical examination, psychological assessment and viva voce. FPSC will announce the schedule for these stages later.
The commission advised candidates to regularly visit its official website for further updates.
FPSC said it had taken due care to ensure the accuracy of the result. However, it reserved the right to correct any error or omission found later.
