Former Premier League defender Titus Bramble has joined the Pakistan men’s senior national football team as an assistant coach.
The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) announced Bramble’s appointment, adding the former Newcastle United defender to the national team’s coaching setup ahead of upcoming international assignments.
Bramble, 45, made more than 200 Premier League appearances during a career that included spells with Ipswich Town, Newcastle United, Wigan Athletic and Sunderland.
He began his senior career at Ipswich before moving to Newcastle, where he made 156 appearances in all competitions across five seasons. He later represented Wigan and Sunderland before moving into coaching.
Bramble also represented England 10 times at Under-21 level but never featured for the senior national team.
After leaving Sunderland, he joined Stowmarket Town as a player-coach and later retired from professional football in 2018. He subsequently worked in Ipswich Town’s academy and also spent time coaching in Dubai.
According to the PFF, Bramble brings experience from the highest level of English football and joins the national setup as Pakistan prepares for the FIFA ASEAN Cup and other upcoming challenges.
His appointment also reunites him with Pakistan head coach Nolberto “Nobby” Solano, with the two having previously played together at Newcastle United. Bramble and Solano shared the field 83 times for the English club between 2002 and 2007.
Solano took charge of the Pakistan national team in July 2025 and has been working to expand the country’s player pool by identifying footballers of Pakistani heritage playing abroad.
