Foreign Investors Took $261 Million In Profits Out Of Pakistan In July 2026

Foreign investors repatriated $261.4 million in profits and dividends from Pakistan during July 2026, down 11.5 percent from $295 million in the same month last year, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

The decline amounted to $33.6 million year over year and marked the first month of fiscal year 2027. However, repatriation increased sharply from June 2026, when foreign investors took out $151 million, representing a 73 percent month over month increase.

Foreign direct investment accounted for most of the repatriated funds. FDI related profit and dividend outflows fell by about 14 percent year over year to approximately $255 million in July, compared with $294.8 million in July 2025.

The power sector recorded the largest outflow during the month, with foreign investors repatriating $73 million in profits and dividends. The financial sector followed with $62 million.

The communication sector accounted for another $24 million in repatriation, while the tobacco and cigarettes industry recorded an outflow of $14.6 million. These sectors were among the largest sources of foreign profit and dividend repatriation during the month.

Overall, the July data shows that foreign profit and dividend outflows remained below last year’s level despite rising significantly from the previous.
