Flour prices have increased by as much as Rs. 400 per 20 kilogram bag in a week, with prices reaching Rs. 3,400 in Islamabad, Karachi, and Peshawar, according to the latest data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
Bannu recorded the largest weekly increase, with the price of a 20 kilogram bag rising by Rs. 400 to Rs. 3,300. In Rawalpindi, the price increased by Rs. 347 to Rs. 3,333, while Islamabad recorded a rise of Rs. 333 to Rs. 3,400.
In Sialkot, the price increased by Rs. 333 to Rs. 3,133. Peshawar recorded a rise of Rs. 300 to Rs. 3,400, while prices in Sukkur increased by Rs. 300 to Rs. 3,060 per bag.
Karachi recorded a weekly increase of Rs. 200, taking the price to Rs. 3,400. In Gujranwala, the price rose by Rs. 200 to Rs. 3,000, while Hyderabad recorded the same increase, bringing the price to Rs. 3,200.
In Bahawalpur, a 20 kilogram bag became Rs. 180 more expensive, reaching Rs. 2,960. Sargodha recorded an increase of Rs. 106 to Rs. 2,866, while prices in Larkana rose by Rs. 80 to Rs. 2,900.
Flour prices in Quetta increased by Rs. 70 to Rs. 3,030 per bag, while Multan recorded a rise of Rs. 66 to Rs. 2,866.
Prices remained unchanged in Lahore, Faisalabad, and Khuzdar. A 20 kilogram bag continued to sell for Rs. 2,300 in Lahore, Rs. 2,200 in Faisalabad, and Rs. 3,000 in Khuzdar.
