The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has ordered a province-wide review of fire safety arrangements in hospitals and health facilities.
The decision came during a meeting attended by officials from Civil Defence, Rescue 1122, District Health Offices and other departments.
Officials reviewed existing fire safety measures, emergency preparedness and the response mechanism used during fire-related incidents.
The KP Health Secretary also directed authorities to form fire safety committees at divisional and district levels.
The review will also assess whether hospitals have proper systems in place to respond quickly during emergencies.
Authorities have been directed to complete the review and submit a report within one week.
