Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb met Standard Chartered Bank CEO Bill Winters in London to discuss Pakistan’s economic reforms, investment prospects and potential financing opportunities.
The meeting covered Pakistan’s latest macroeconomic developments and ongoing structural reforms, according to the Finance Division.
Aurangzeb appreciated Standard Chartered’s continued support for Pakistan and its participation in various financing and capital market transactions.
The two sides discussed potential areas of future cooperation, including tokenization, international Sukuk and other financing opportunities.
The bank’s investor network across Europe, the Middle East and Asia was also discussed as a potential channel for expanding investor outreach and improving Pakistan’s visibility in international markets.
The meeting covered possible capital market transactions linked to the government’s privatization program. The discussions included potential opportunities for both buyers and sellers.
Advisor to the Prime Minister on Privatization Muhammad Ali and Advisor to the Finance Minister Omer Khan also attended the meeting.
