Famous TV Host’s Son Becomes ‘Golden Man’

Pehlaaj Hassan, the son of journalist and television host Iqrar ul Hassan, turned himself into a “golden man” for a social experiment highlighting the difficulties faced by street performers.

The actor and content creator dressed entirely in gold and stood motionless in public places for an hour to experience the challenges of earning money as a human statue. He reportedly collected just Rs. 200.

During the experiment, Pehlaaj faced mocking looks, harassment and attempts to remove him from footpaths, showing how these performers can struggle for both earnings and respectful treatment.

He also spoke to a child who works as a golden street performer. The boy said preparations can begin as early as 4am and described health problems and injuries associated with the paint and chemicals used for the work.

The child explained that food, battery charging and other daily expenses take up much of his income. Falling ill adds another difficulty, as being unable to perform means losing earnings.

Through the experiment and the conversation, Pehlaaj highlighted the financial pressures and difficult working conditions behind an act often treated as roadside entertainment.

Pehlaaj is known for playing the younger version of Qalb-e-Momin in the 2019 drama Alif. He also appeared in television programs alongside his father during his early childhood.
