Excise Department Completes Profiling of 130,000 NCP Vehicles

The Excise and Taxation Department has profiled around 130,000 non-custom-paid (NCP) vehicles across Malakand Division as part of a province-wide drive to create a centralized record of such vehicles, officials said Tuesday.

Director Excise and Taxation Malakand Region Fazal Ghafoor said the department has established profiling centers at key locations across the division under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s policy and directives from the Excise and Taxation Department.

Ghafoor said thousands of NCP vehicles operate across the division and that the ongoing exercise aims to document them and create a centralized record.

He said officials have already profiled around 130,000 vehicles and urged owners of the remaining undocumented vehicles to use the facility before the deadline expires. The official warned that the department could take legal action against owners whose vehicles remain undocumented after the deadline.

He said the department has also contacted owners of vehicle bargaining centers and car showrooms across the division and directed them to ensure the profiling of NCP vehicles in their possession. According to Ghafoor, the profiling exercise will help authorities maintain an accurate database of NCP vehicles and assist law enforcement agencies in tracing vehicles linked to criminal activities, including theft.
