Xiaomi Launches 2x Cheaper Clip-On Earbuds With 32-Hour Battery Life
Xiaomi has introduced the Redmi Clip Neo, a new pair of wireless earbuds featuring a clip-on design, AI-powered calling, and up to 32 hours of battery life.
The earbuds launched in China alongside the Redmi K100 smartphone. They offer a more affordable alternative to Xiaomi’s first clip-on earbuds, which debuted in May.
The Redmi Clip Neo costs approximately $60 and comes in two colors: Zero Black and Pearl White.
Design and Comfort
Unlike traditional earbuds that fit inside the ear canal, the Redmi Clip Neo attaches around the outer ear. The design uses a flexible 0.6mm titanium memory wire that helps the earbuds stay securely in place.
Xiaomi says the wire has passed 25,000 bending tests to ensure durability. The parts that touch the ears use skin-friendly silicone for improved comfort during extended use. Each earbud weighs just 5.3g, making the design lightweight.
Xiaomi has also introduced a limited-edition version in collaboration with CryingCenter. This version includes a branded carrying pouch, stickers, and a special gift box.
Audio and AI Features
The Redmi Clip Neo features 12mm speakers with a dual-magnetic design.
According to Xiaomi, the new speaker system increases volume by up to 40%.
The speaker diaphragm also has a diamond coating designed to improve how quickly the speakers respond to changes in sound.
For calls, the earbuds include two microphones and AI-powered noise reduction to help reduce background noise.
However, this noise reduction works during calls and does not provide active noise cancellation for music.
Users can adjust the sound through a built-in 10-band equalizer, which includes four presets and custom settings.
Controls and Connectivity
One of the main features of the Redmi Clip Neo is its physical buttons, with one button on each earbud.
A single press pauses or resumes playback, while two presses skip to the next track. Three presses return to the previous track.
Holding the button activates an AI assistant. Xiaomi says the feature works with both Android phones and iPhones.
The earbuds also support multipoint connectivity, allowing users to connect to more than one device.
Additionally, they offer quick connection when the charging case is opened.
Battery and Pricing
The Redmi Clip Neo provides up to seven hours of playback on a single charge.
With the charging case, total battery life increases to 32 hours.
The earbuds are available in China through Xiaomi’s official online store for approximately $60. The limited-edition version costs approximately $67.
For comparison, Xiaomi’s original Clip-on earbuds launched at around $120, making the Redmi Clip Neo roughly half as expensive.
Xiaomi has not announced international availability for the new earbuds.
