Lahore Traffic Police have warned that drivers caught driving with a suspended license will face a criminal case as authorities tighten action against those involved in fatal and serious road accidents.
According to Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi, the licenses of 146 drivers involved in fatal and serious accidents have already been suspended.
He said the license of any driver found responsible for a fatal or serious non-fatal accident will now be suspended. In cases of irresponsible driving, the suspension will remain in place for at least one year.
Drivers responsible for fatal accidents will also face additional legal action. However, the suspension of licenses in fatal accident cases will be subject to court orders.
The CTO said irresponsible driving will not be tolerated and traffic violations will be dealt with under a zero-tolerance policy.
He added that protecting the lives and property of citizens remains the top priority and that strict legal measures will continue to prevent accidents and ensure safer travel.
