A case of alleged medical negligence has emerged at District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Bagh, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), where surgical bandages were reportedly left inside a woman’s abdomen for a year following an operation.
According to reports, around 200 grams of surgical bandages were later removed from the woman’s body.
Taking notice of the incident, AJK Prime Minister Iftikhar Ali Gillani directed the Director General of Health to conduct a transparent investigation.
The prime minister also ordered authorities to identify those responsible and submit a detailed inquiry report immediately.
