Diversion Announced as Tanker With 48,000 Liters of Petrol Overturns on Key Motorway
An oil tanker carrying 48,000 liters of petrol overturned on the M-3 Motorway near Rajana, prompting Motorway Police to rush to the scene and launch emergency response operations, officials said.
According to Motorway Police spokesperson Syed Imran Ahmed, a safety cordon has been established around the accident site, and officers are working to secure the area while maintaining traffic flow alongside rescue efforts.
Local district administration and emergency response agencies have been notified. Due to the accident, the M-3 has been closed near Rajana, with all traffic from Rajana North Plaza suspended.
Motorists are being diverted through alternate routes via the Rajana and Samundri interchanges, and drivers have been advised to exercise caution.
Motorway Police said road users’ safety remains their top priority, adding that officers and staff remain deployed on site as rescue operations continue.
