Diesel Likely to Get More Expensive
Dubai crude oil has surged almost $20 above Brent.
Dubai crude reached $123.6 per barrel on September 11, compared with $104.4 for Brent, giving Dubai a premium of $19.3 per barrel.
The development is particularly important for Pakistan because high-speed diesel (HSD) pricing is linked to Dubai crude prices published by Platts rather than directly to Brent.

It is seldom mentioned that Dubai crude traded below Brent for most of June-July 2026.
Diesel prices in Pakistan are tied to the Platts Dubai benchmark and Arab Gulf refined-product assessments rather than North Sea Brent.
The Petroleum Division is therefore likely to notify higher diesel prices starting tomorrow. This depends on the current Gulf situation, which has remained uncertain since the US-Israel war on Iran started.
The widening Dubai-Brent spread therefore adds another layer of pressure to Pakistan’s domestic fuel costs, particularly for diesel consumers.
